Michael Moreau is a former age-group competitive AAU swimmer and multiple national record holder. After an over 20 year hiatus, he reinvigorated his love of swimming with his pursuit of open water events and challenges. In October 2024, he completed the Molokai Channel swim, a 26.7 mile (43 km) deep ocean channel swim between the islands of Molokai and Oahu in Hawaii. Upon completion, his time was the 14th fastest in history.
